From House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D/MD, today has said that the President Barak Obama White House has been much sucessful in fighting terrorism then his predecessor, former President George W. Bush.
From The Hill website: “We’re tough on terrorists. That’s our policy. That’s our performance. And, in fact, we’ve been more successful”, Representative Hoyer said in his weekly press conference.
During the years that former President George W. Bush was in the White House, the global war against terrorism was an ongoing reality. Representative Hoyer’s comments were expressed as a way of attacking Republicans as a way to counterattack the position that Democrats do not take the issue of national security very seriously.
What I see here is another politico USING a near terrorist attack this past weekend in New York City’s Times Square to “stir the pot” in attacking Republicans simply as a diversion from the weak record on the part of both President Barak Obama and the Democrats. IMHO, this is not the TIME for “stirring the hot-pot” of attacking those whose political positions differ. What Representative Hoyer said simply is not only another attack, but also shows that the saying, “politics ends at the waterfront” just does not carry water anymore.
