Israel Had To Do What Needed To Be Done

Yesterday, the Israeli Defense Force, or IDF, stormed a fleet of ships bound for Gaza, in order to break the blockade that both Israel and Egypt in order to end the violence coming from the Hamas controlled Gaza stripe. Ten people were killed and it has frayed Israel/Turkey relations.

This is not surprising what has happened, and Turkey, which for years has been a friend of Israel, and a member of NATO, which also for many years has been the most modern of all Muslim nations, its government is also fighting off efforts of a pro-sharia law political party to become a majority governing party in Turkey.

From the Wall Street Journal Online Website:”Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and its military chief cut short trips abroad in response to the maritime raid, while Ankara canceled joint military exercises with Israel, recalled its ambassador and demanded an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council—where Turkey holds a seat—to discuss the events.

Mr. Erdogan, in televised remarks as he left Chile, said Israel had carried out an act of “inhuman state terror.” Eschewing the cautious response of most Western leaders, Mr. Erdogan said he wanted to assure the world the ships in the flotilla had been carefully checked and contained only humanitarian aid—not weapons.

He said he also would call a meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to discuss Israel’s action in what he said were international waters. Turkey has the second largest military in NATO, after the U.S.”

Today, which is not surprising, since the UN was bound to do so, has condemned the Israeli raid actions.

From the time when news first broke out on what had happened, condemnations and protests resulted. This is not surprising, considering a growing anti-Israel mood that is spreading. What is forgotten is that Israel was taking defensive actions against an Iranian backed Hamas controlled government. What took place is a reminder that the war between two civilizations, one Muslim and the other non-Muslim, continues as seen on just this past Monday. Could this also be the start of a new Middle Eastern war? Will will have to wait and see. But the rest of the world forgets is that What both Hamas is doing, with Iran’s help, has also been at war against Israel. What the world is doing is aid and abetting a terrorist based area. Plus blockades are legal and are often is done during a time of war. Israel is at war against Hamas. The flotilla people KNEW THIS. All this is an effort by those against Israel to embarrassed Israel BIGTIME. Also a reminder that this war be between two civilizations, is an ongoing war, weither non-Muslims like it or not. This could be the beginning of a long, hot summer in the Middle East.
