Several Tornadoes Touch Down In Massachusetts

“SPRINGFIELD (CBS) — Several tornadoes touched down Wednesday afternoon as very strong storms moved through Massachusetts.

Tornadoes were confirmed in Westfield, Springfield, West Springfield, Wilbraham, Sturbridge, Monson, Oxford, Charlton, and Agawam. There was also a funnel cloud spotted in Worcester.

“You could see things were coming,” said Deborah McCarthy, who witnessed the tornado in Springfield from inside an office building. “Trees were starting to snap around us and the windows smashed on the upper floors. You can see cars flipped over, too.”
