Catholic Organizations Taking Out Lawsuits

“Some of the most influential Catholic institutions in the country filed suit against the Obama administration Monday over the so-called contraception mandate, in one of the biggest coordinated legal challenges to the rule to date.

Claiming their “fundamental rights hang in the balance,” a total of 43 plaintiffs filed a dozen separate federal lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the requirement. Among the organizations filing were the University of Notre Dame, the Archdiocese of New York and The Catholic University of America.

The groups are objecting to the requirement from the federal health care overhaul that employers provide access to contraceptive care. The Obama administration several months ago softened its position on the mandate, but some religious organizations complained the administration did not go far enough to ensure the rule would not compel them to violate their religious beliefs.

A statement from the University of Notre Dame said the requirement would still call on religious-affiliated groups to “facilitate” coverage “for services that violate the teachings of the Catholic Church.”

It is about time that not only the Roman Catholic faith community in the United States of America take this action, but also many, many other faith communities, including the Evangelical Protestant Christians as well.

Hypocrisy For All To See And Hear

During the past couple of days, the United States of America was treated to a “diversion” from the harsh reality of the very difficult economic situation that concerns most Americans.

That ”diversion” came from the recent issue of birth control, Sandra Fluke, and Rush Limbaugh.

What happened was last week, conservative talk radio show host, Rush Limbaugh, during his midday radio show talked up on the issue of both birth control and this woman by the name of Sandra Fluke. What was the “thought crime“ that Mr. Limbaugh committed to “so offend the liberals“? Mr. Limbaugh refered Ms. Fluke as a “slut”. Yes, that is what Mr. Limbaugh called Ms. Fluke last week that got the liberals underwear all into knots.

While Mr. Limbaugh should have used better words for what he has said and has since apologized for calling Ms. Fluke a “slut”, fallout from this who incident still continues to be felt in the conservative talk radio show industry. A number of advertisers have dropped Rush’s show, add to that, a few AM/FM radio stations as well. There has even been calls for the Federal Communications Commission to have Mr. Limbaugh’s show taken off the air.

Having said that, what surprises me is that while the liberals go nuts over what Mr. Limbaugh has said, at the same time, there is complete or close to complete “silence” when it comes to liberals and “offensive speech.”

Here are examples of offensive speech that comes from the liberals which gets not only non attention, but also is met with a ho-hum attitude:

From the SooperMexican.com website:”While the leftist news media industrial complex is slamming Rush Limbaugh for the Obama administration, liberals get to say whatever they want without any coverage.

Witness Mike Malloy, who touts himself as a “liberal/progressive talk show host”, who made this disgusting comment about the victims of the recent tornadoes in the midwest:

“Their God, if this is the way they want to look at it, keeps smashing them into little grease spots on the pavement, in Alabama, in Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia and Oklahoma, you know the bible belt..”

The above comments IMHO, come as NO SURPRISE, because the liberal talk radio show hosts KNOW that they can say whatever they want and there will not be any objections to what they say. But if a conservative radio talk show host says what they, the liberals believe to be offensive, than there is yelling and screaming for the conservative talk radio show host’s head. What it all says, in the reading is the level of hypocrisy that now comes from the left and it is BIGTIME.

Going on further,this past weekend, Bill Maher on his show, calls conservative and tea party member as well as former Alaska Governor and GOP/Republican 2008 Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin a very vulgar name. Where is the members of the NOW ORGANIZATION when you need them? Instead the results are crickets chirping.

Oh well, here was the response, which was NONE:“The National Organization for Women (NOW) refused to comment on Maher’s use of the derogatory term. A rep told FOXNews.com it is a “known fact” that NOW does not correspond with FOX News.”

NOT SURPRISED there. That was expected.

Both of the above samples is WHY there is NO condemnation coming from the liberal community in regards to their own.

This goes to show that hypocrisy coming from the left not only has no bounds, but it is for EVERYONE in the United States of the America for ALL to SEE and HEAR.

HYPOCRISY, thy name is LIBERALISM.

Too Soon

Last night while I was watching the NBC music talent show, ” The Voice“, I saw what looked like a breaking news annoucment saying that singer Whitney Houston was found dead at the age of 48 in her hotel room in Beverly Hills, CA, USA. How ironic in all of this is while I was watching a tv show about finding new music talent, a very talented music voice from my days as a young adult, Whitney Houston passed away suddenly. What also was very ironic is that now, as an aging member from the baby boom generation, this was like a punch in my stomach.

Also Ms. Whitney’s death comes at a time in my own life when I am confronting the reality that now that I am in the second-half of my life, my own body is also starting to do its own breakdown in the breakdown lane of this life. First my right knee with ostroarthritis, then a tooth going bad with abscess, forcing me to go to the University of Connecticut Medical Center in Farmington for emergency dental treatment. Late last October, after seeing a spot in my right breast area during a regular yearly mamagram and ultrasound having a hard time picking up what that spot is, I am as on February 27 will be undergoing a breast biospy procedure. I PRAY that it does not end up having me being told I have breast cancer. Just being able to talk about my own health issues was never all that easy, let alone blogging about the health problems of the rich and famous. Being one that tries to have my own self-respect

Having said all of this, I now get back with dealing with the death of Whitney Houston.

Early this morning, which is a Sunday, I do not blog at all, and I try since this is the Lord’s day, to avoid blogging as much as possible. Today with the sad passing of Ms. Houston, this was the exception. Even then, I was still very much surprised by Ms. Whitney’s passing. I have been hearing that she has been fighting drug addiction for a number of years, coming out to admit in 2003 to Oprah that she was smoking crack cocaine. From the UK Daily Mail Online website: “She cancelled a string of concerts and talk shows as she struggled to cope. In a chat show with Oprah in 2003, the star admitted the scale of her addiction to smoking crack cocaine.”It was every day, every,’ she said. ‘I didn’t think about the singing part of it any more.” Even reading in the Daily Mail UK online website was a BIG EYE OPENER for me to the extent of the addiction that Ms. Houston had been dealing with. Truly I will never in full come to the full understanding of what she was dealing with. But what Ms. Houston was dealing with, the down side of what comes with being both rich and famous is an ongoing lesson that both wealth and fame are always, always fleeting.

While Ms. Whitney’s music will live on in my mind and in the minds of her fans and music listeners alike, my two favorite songs being her wonderful singing of the United States of America‘s national anthem, “The Star Spangle Banner“ before the start of the 1991 NFL pro football Super Bowl and the song from the movie and soundtrack, “The Bodyguard“ “I Will Always Love You.” Truly those two songs will burn in my memory. Tonight I will be watch “The Grammy Awards” and check in to see the musical tribute to Ms. Houston. Today I had aged a bit more in my middle-age. 

The sad reality of it all is, Ms. Houston died TOO SOON.

Thank-you Ms. Houston for the memories in your music. RIP Ms. Houston.

Birth Control Battle Has Gotten Even Hotter,Even Capital Hill Has Weighed In

Now even members of both political parties up on United States of America‘s Washington D.C.‘s Capital hill had gone out of their way to weigh-in on the very heated birth control mandatory plan of President Barack Hussein Obama‘s healthcare bill.

Look for this issue to remain “hot” for a good while to come. War has been declared against the Roman Catholic Church in the United States. As having said this in a previous posting, it is” just like hitting a big bald face hornets nest”, big mistake.

I welcome his efforts to consider all possible options as his committee proceeds with its work.

With each new day, this whole issue of forcing faith communities in general,but in a special way, Catholic Churchrelated groups to provide birth control which goes against freedom of religion goes on. This has simply has become a political football, that which is a moral issue.

What has happened is a number of Catholic groups are up in arms over this part of the healthcare law of President Barak Hussein Obama or Obamacare which for these groups is a BIG BONE OF CONTENTION.

After Two Years, Keep On Keeping Going

Today marks two years since I have begun this blog. Considering that late last year was difficult because of dealing with personal health issues, and it affected my ability to be able to blog. Neverless, another year of blogging has come and now I am going into the beginning of year number three.

The highlight of this second year was being able to get a lot of videos into the blog, and in a special way, on current events, faith, women’s issues, dealing with challenges,  and animals.

Tonight I will be taking it easy and enjoy my University of Connecticut women basketball team go up against the women of Syracuse.

Last night, during my night of silence of now tv or radio in regards to President Barak Hussein Obama‘s SOTU speech, I ended up falling asleep instead.

I want to THANK all who have come to visit and to read my postings. I will in turn work even harder to continue interesting blog entries.

Cleared Of Murder Charge

Today 24-year-old Amanda Knox was cleared of the murder charges in Italy.
