Part 2: UConn Women Huskies: Unstoppable

Part 2: UConn Women Huskies: Unstoppable

For the UConn women Huskies, the winning numbers are adding up. Today’s win against University of Pittsburgh brings the winning number now to 60 games won. For the 2009-10 team, they are on a journey on the highway with raising another championship trophy at the end of the women’s college basketball season.

For Tina Charles, who had scored 24 points, she made a new record, becoming the sixth Connecticut women’s basketball player to reach 2,000 point in her career at UConn and with the team’s help, beat Pittsburgh, 98-56 on Saturday afternoon. Head Coach Geno Auriemma says, with the quote here “they all know what the goal is and what the final destination is” which is for the team is to win a seventh national title. Ms. Charles and with the help of Maya Moore, worked both the inside and outside to run rings around the Pittsburgh team.

Even the Head Coach of the Pittsburgh team was very impressed with seeing history on the hardwood floor, Agnus Berenato says this team is among the best in NCAA history. Plus she even has predicted that also this team could even break the record held by John Wooden of UCLA of the most perfect season ever, 88-0.

Even when the rankings come out on Monday, a new record will be made, surpassing Louisiana Tech, from the 1980-82 in the hold of the number 1 ranking position.

When it all comes down to it, I kinda wonder what the Head Coach of the University of TN, Pat Summit who must be regretting her decision to end the long-standing game series between the Lady Vols and the Lady Huskies.
