During the time that the Gulf of Mexico is dealing with the pumping of oil into it, it has been discovered that President Barak Obama and members of the USA House and Senate have been recipients of money from BP.
From the POLITICO:”BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Donations come from a mix of employees and the company’s political action committees — $2.89 million flowed to campaigns from BP-related PACs and about $638,000 came from individuals.
On top of that, the oil giant has spent millions each year on lobbying — including $15.9 million last year alone — as it has tried to influence energy policy.
During his time in the Senate and while running for president, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years, according to financial disclosure records.”
At a time when those in the Obama White House, “we need to put a boot on the throat of BP”, and that there is great concerns about the damage to the fishing and recreation industries in the Gulf, this revelation via the POLITICO comes as no surprise. President Obama and the Dems have been talking from both sides of their mouths on the issues of concerns for the environment of the Gulf of Mexico at the same time, getting campaign monies from the same company they have been throwing under the bus as of late.
Once again, in the POLITICO, a spokesman from the Obama White House comes out and DENIES the notion that President Obama has taken any money:“President Obama didn’t accept a dime from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists during his presidential campaign,” spokesman Ben LaBolt said. “He raised $750 million from nearly four million Americans. And since he became president, he rolled back tax breaks and giveaways for the oil and gas industry, spearheaded a G20 agreement to phase out fossil fuel subsidies, and made the largest investment in American history in clean energy incentives.”
Just like Goldman Sachs, President it seems, has been caught in bed with another major business, while at the same time, acting like he is a Chicago community organizer when he was in public calling BP to the carpet just like he was acting like a saint. But at the end of the day, this will simply the words of another limo Democrat who is making excuses just to have another industry taken over by the Feds.
