Dark Horse

Dark Horse

As of late, Rick Santorum is starting to show signs of life in Iowa. During a time in which Mitt Romney cannot close the deal, Newt Gingrich cannot seem to get on one state’s primary election ballot, Ron Paul make a lot of people nervous, Gov. Rick Perry may have used up his 15 minutes, and Michelle Bachman cannot get any traction, Rick Santorum as the dark horse is starting to gain traction.

This comes as no surprise, Mr. Santorum, though slow and steady, keeps focus on the issues. When it comes to being a real conservative, on the issues, Mr. Santorum sounds very, very strong. Also Mr. Santorum speaks just like a small business person: “It’s like any small business person,” Santorum said on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.” Going on further:

“If the money’s not coming in, you’ve just got to work harder and that’s what we’re doing. We’re going up in the morning doing radio shows at six in the morning and going until nine, ten at night and town meeting after town meeting. 357 in Iowa. Hard work pays off,” Santorum said.

Santorum, who has long said Iowa voters would come around to him eventually, said his message of social conservatism combined with strong national security was making a dent a week ahead of the first-in-the-nation caucus.

“We’ve always felt we could trust the people of Iowa, that when they got down to the time they were going to look at all the candidates and measure up to people they’ve had the opportunity to see, that they would do well,” Santorum said.”

Could it be that people in Iowa and elsewhere wants a candidate that stays focus on the issues and not go into personal attacks or just focus on the United States of America and pretend that the rest of the world is not only fire and that very same fire could end up spreading to the United States?

Look for Iowa Caucus folks to look for what is called “balance” viewpoints on the issues. So could there be a possible surprise of what I refer to Mr. Santorum as the “dark horse”?
