Dealing With Sandy, Prayers Not Only For Myself, But For Anyone In The Affected Areas

Dealing With Sandy, Prayers Not Only For Myself, But For Anyone In The Affected Areas

Right now, I am keeping a “very careful eye” on the coming northeastern storm, Sandy. Having just gotten home yesterday from a very wonderful Christian/Catholic women’s retreat weekend, towards its end, was warned to prepare. Had been able to do that, despite being tired from this wonderful weekend of a new spiritual beginning which was needed after four difficult and heartbreaking months of ill-health, my mother Edna’s advancing age and ill-health as well as both the sudden illness and death of the man I love, David.

For those who read this article, PLEASE keep me in your prayers that I and my cats get through this storm. PLEASE also pray for those who are in the thick of it right now in the affected areas, be they humans or animals. For those who are in the thick of it, stay safe and get your prepping efforts DONE NOW. May God Bless and keep everyone, including this blogger and her cats SAFE. AMEN.

Security Guard Of Conservative Group Shot

Security Guard Of Conservative Group Shot

WASHINGTON (AP) — An armed man walked into the Washington headquarters of a conservative Christian lobbying group Wednesday morning and was confronted by a security guard, whom he shot in the arm before being wrestled to the ground, authorities said.

It wasn’t immediately known whether the confrontation was related to the work of the Family Research Council, which strongly opposes gay marriage and abortion.”

Prayers and support for the security guard hero.

A Wild And Crazy Week

A Wild And Crazy Week

Today, Sunday, November 6, 2011, is the first real post for the month of November, 2011.

This past week, because of a major “freak” snowstorm that took place on the northeastern part of the east coast and in CT, USA, power outages were many. I had lost my power for one week. There was “no power and no heat”. It was like being on “Survivor”, but it was not a voluntary effort and there was no $1 million dollars being offered for as a prize.

This is why I was not online.

Power came back online for my “season citizen” mother, my cats, and I yesterday at 10:30 AM.

I THANK in shout out the many electric lines repair crews, both in-state and out-of-state for a job WELL DONE to have my power restored.

I offer my support for those who are still waiting to get their power back. Hang in there.

For the CT C L & P Power Company, a lot of questions are going to be needed to be answered, but at another time.

Today I am THANKFUL to have my electric power back.

More Than A Businessman, A Pioneer, A Giant (Steve Jobs)

More Than A Businessman, A Pioneer, A Giant (Steve Jobs)

Today, this morning, following last night the news announcement that co-founder of Apple Computers, Steve Jobs has passed on at the age of 56 from cancer and having his family by his side. While I did not know him on a personal level, because of the Apple Mac computer, I can do this blog article and all other blog articles.

When I first came upon the Apple computer and Steve Jobs by extension, it was when I was attending community college and coming after a bigtime struggle to learn back than with a DOS run PC program called Lotus. It was the middle 1990’s and also when I had decided to go from general studies to something a bit more creative, called graphic design/multimedia. It was at the time spring semester and it was through taking desktop publishing and with the wonderful help of a graphic design teacher now friend whom she introduced me to the JOY of Apple Mac computing. I had from that time onward, fallen in love with the Apple Mac computer and all things Apple.

Since I have had been battling learning challenges myself and because of Steve Jobs and his wonderful invention, I was able to graduate from community college. Also now I am able to blog and listen to my favorite music, and begin to rediscover art and graphic design as well as current events with animal rescue groups as well.

Mr. Jobs, I will miss you and your creative style. But you made a BIG DIFFERENCE in the world of computing and business. Thank-You for your achievements to not on I but to all who are fans of Apple products.

My prayers and condolences to your dear family and friends, as well as to my fellow Apple Mac supporters.

Goodbye, God Bless, Eternal Rest, Rest In Peace, Mr. Jobs.

What Happened Inside The Washington Monument During Earthquake, With Video

Yesterday a video was released showing what happened during the east coast earthquake that also affected the United States capital of Washington D.C on August 23, 2011. and in a special way, the Washington Monument. It is closed down in full for the time being.

Also showing in the video why there is a different set of colors, which because it took the long time for it to be fully built. The American civil war shut down building and with the exhausting of stone from the quarries, stone from other quarries had to come into use.

“The National Park Service has said the Washington Monument will be closed indefinitely after it sustained damage from an earthquake occurring 83 miles south-west of Washington, D.C. Scott Pelley reports.”
