IRS Looking Into Tapping Into Refunds For Health Insurance Penalties

This comes to me as no surprise, the IRS now getting creative with enforcing the new healthcare reform bill. From Reuters, the IRS is looking at tapping into income tax refunds, in order to collect any fines from people who refuse to buy health insurance.

According to IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman said after speaking at the National Press Club, he has said that under the new law, “the IRS cannot seize assets or levy fines”, so Mr. Shulman has added that it would be “that the refunds were the most obvious option to collect penalties”.

What could very much happen, is that more people and companies will end up, paying people “off the books” in the future in order to avoid dealing with the IRS. With that, the start of an underground economy down the road.

Also adding from Rep. Dave Camp, a senior House Republican on the tax-writing Ways and Means committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, has said that the new law, in presenting a report after its passage has said, “dangerously expands IRS authority.”

“The individual mandate would create millions of captive customers for health insurance companies, with the IRS acting as the enforcement agency for those companies,” Camp’s report has stated.

I am looking forward to the April 15th, 2010 Tea Party up in Hartford. I do add that many Americans also look forward to these rallies, Americans who LOVE LIBERTY.

  1. Well I been around here for a while and I found what I needed, but the points this post has touched are really amazing, everyone’s trying to either copy or follow the same thing again and again, and most of the time get really hurtled by this. I think this being the first post to really post something out of the box will really help me and many others. I think trying this is really worth. It will not be wastage of time coz in any case this will never harm our campaigns for good serps.
